She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
(Matthew 1.21
NRSV)
"Well, if it's a small one, do you think we ought to go?" his mother asked.
"I think so," the boy said in a low voice, "It's just you, me, and the principal." All of us have things in our life that need to be set right.
God can help us through the gift of Christ who comes to us in Christmas.
A Sunday School teacher asked a little girl: "What are the sins of omission?"
Thoughtfully, the little girl answered: "They're the sins we ought to have committed but haven't thought of." Most of us have sins of omission and commission, but Christmas comes with a savior. It is a savior to comes to bring forgiveness.
Lord Jesus, forgive me on this eve of Christmas, so that I will be ready to welcome you tomorrow. Amen.
