Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.
(1 Corinthians 16.13 NRSV)

Oliver Wendell Holmes was walking down a street one day. A little girl joined him. When the girl started to turn back home, the famed jurist said, "When your mother asks you where you've been, tell her you've been walking with Oliver Wendell Holmes."

To which the little girl replied confidently, "And when your folks ask you where you've been, tell them you were walking with Mary Susanna Brown." There's a little girl with a healthy sense of who she is!

A healthy sense of identity is one of the most valuable gifts we can give our children. It is also a gift we need ourselves. And if we did not receive it from our Godly parents, we will need to look to God. We are God’s children, and we are created in God’s wonderful image.

Lord Jesus, help me to have a positive and healthy image of myself as a child made in God’s image. Amen.
