Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you.

Executives in business and industry tell us that most people who lose their jobs are not let go because of personal inefficiency, but because of a failure to get along with their co-workers. Employers interviewing prospective employees consider not only their knowledge, technical skill, and experience, but also such questions as: How well can this person work with others? How adaptable is she? Is he troubled by excessive "I" strain, or can he think in terms of "we," for the good of the company?

The earlier in life we learn to think in terms of the plural pronoun "we," the better will be our adjustment to living together in society.

I am reminded of the newspaper editor who had just been informed that a storm had caused a high-tension wire to fall across the street in the middle of the business district of town. He assigned two reporters to the story. The editor sent them out, saying: "No one knows whether the wire is live or not, so I want you to cooperate--one of you touch it and the other write the story."

We also need cooperation within the Christian community in order for us to spread God's love in Jesus Christ.
