"The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was its fall!"
(Matthew 7.27 NRSV)

In Matthew 7:24-27, we find the words that conclude Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against that house yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice, is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose and the wind blew and beat against that house and it fell with a great crash."

Jesus Christ states that in building your life, the ground on which you built determines the durability of what you build. Mind what Jesus said. There is a definite connection between the ground on which you build and the durability of what you build.

Dear God, help me to build my life of faith upon Jesus, my savior and redeemer, so that I may not fall from you. Amen.
