For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
(Colossians 1.9 NRSV)

I heard about a lady who was riding a considerable distance on the Pennsylvania turn pike for the first time. This meant she had to go through some long tunnels. Her son asked her how she enjoyed it. She replied that one of them was a 2 «. "What do you mean by that?" he asked. "Do you mean it was 2 « miles long or 2 « minutes long or what?" She replied that it was 2 « times through the 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my Shepherd..."

There is a peacefulness that only waiting and praying can give us. There is also a power that only waiting and praying can give us. Prayer and waiting are necessary preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Followers of Jesus are to look onward. They are to look upward.

Dear God, as I go through the game of life, may I live a prayer where you are always present. Amen.
