Each of you, however, should love his wife as himself, and a wife should respect her husband.

A young man, after weeks of agonizing, finally summoned up enough courage to ask his girlfriend's father for his daughter's hand in marriage.

"I'll have to think about that for a while," the father said gruffly. "And I'm sure I needn't remind you that whoever marries my daughter gets a rare and beautiful prize."

"Oh, really?" said the young man, relaxing a bit. "What are my chances of seeing it now?"

This poor guy didn't realize that the rare and beautiful prize was the women he wanted to marry. Having a great marriage means we recognize the rare and beautiful prize God has given to us.
