But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
(1 Timothy 1.16 NRSV)

Some years ago the New York Fire Department had a great parade. One feature was three buses loaded with people from all walks of life, the high and the low. Signs on these buses read: "ALL OF THESE WERE SAVED BY OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM BURNING BUILDINGS." Wouldn't it be great if we could fill a caravan with people our churches have saved? We see Jesus in people who are in need.

That's us! We ought to be able to see Jesus in one another. You have heard it said, "You are the only Bible some people will ever read." We could also say, "You are the only Jesus some people will ever meet."

Let others see Jesus in and through you!

Loving God, better my walk with you so that others will see Jesus in me. Amen.
