You are my friends if you do what I command you.

God comes to us as a friend in Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 15:15. "I do not call your
servants any longer... but I have called you friends..." In my morning devotions, I am reminded
that Jesus is my friend in my life and in my ministry. I could not be a minister or help people
with out Christ's support. I could not hold the hand of a dying member without the inner
strength of
Christ. I could not work in a diverse congregation of people without the Spirit of Christ in me.
And I certainly could not love other people without my friend Jesus Christ. God comes to
comes to us as a friend in Jesus Christ.
Dear God, help me to open up to Jesus that we may walk together as friends. Amen.
