Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life."
I ask no dream, no prophet ecstasies,
That is a valid prayer regardless of our circumstances. How can we know the truth? With the
help of One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
(John 14.6

"All that the Father has is mine," said Jesus, "therefore I said that he will take what is mine and
declare it to you." We CAN know the truth. The Gospel is truth! We can trust our own minds,
we can trust the experiences of others who have been led by the Spirit, and we can pray that
Christ by the power of the Spirit will reveal to us all we need to know for the living of this day.
There is a hymn that expresses our need so beautifully:
No sudden rending of the veil of clay,
No angel visitant, no opening skies;
But take the dimness of my soul away.
Dear God, thank you for being my Way, Truth and Life. Amen.
