Now if you are unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will
serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of
the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the

Most of us are like the little boy in Sunday
School. We want to be the rich man until we die. Then we
want to be Lazarus. Jesus confronts us with a decision. Jesus said in Luke 9.23, "If any want
to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow
me." The decision is ours and ours alone.
Dear God, may I never waver on living and working for you. Amen.
