If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins
and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
It would be great if the people who know us would consider us to be saints. But what is
important is how God sees us and how we see ourselves. The testimony of the
scripture is sure. We are saints. Certainly, we sin, but God doesn't see us as sinners.
God sees us as saints, because of our savior Jesus Christ who cleanses all who
believe in him.
(1 John 1.9
NRSV)
George Gallup, famous for his Gallup Polls, wrote a book called THE SAINTS AMONG
US, in which he interviewed people from across the nation who apparently have
lifestyles that have their friends calling them "saints." These "saints" are not racially
prejudiced, and are more giving and forgiving than most.
Lord Jesus, come and live in my heart today and always, as you cleanse me and make
me whole before God. Amen.
