In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead,
and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be
persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the
utmost patience in teaching.
I doubt that anyone will ever complain that our church is too noisy. "Noisy" is not our thing.
However, that does not mean that we are not excited that our Savior has come. Maybe we need
to
do a better job of communicating to others the excitement we feel.
Christ is alive, and may he be alive in and through us!
(2 Timothy 4:1-2
NRSV)
William H. Hinson tells about a man who was getting up a petition for the city council against a
church. He said the church was too noisy. People were too enthusiastic. He took the petition to a
Jewish neighbor and thought he would be the first to sign it. The neighbor read the petition,
looked
at the man, and said that he could not sign the petition. He said that if he believed what those
people believe, that their Savior has come, he would probably be noisier than they are.
Dear Jesus, I am blessed with your living presence. May it show is all that I do. Amen.
