Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and
make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be
healed.
I wish I was a little rock. . .A sittin' on the hill
Some people are very tired. In fact, one of the great dividing lines in this world seems to be
between those who are high energy persons and those who are low energy persons. The super
successful people in this world are invariably high energy people. They get so much done because
they move like a whirlwind. They never seem to tire. On the other hand there are some people
who
can barely drag themselves out of bed. Particularly on Monday morning. If this is your problem,
listen to the words of St. Paul: "Lift your drooping arms, and strengthen your weak knees, and
make straight paths for your feet. . . ." God will give us the strength, as we serve.
(Hebrews 12:12-13
NRSV)
Have you ever felt so tired that you couldn't put one foot in front of the other? Have you ever felt
what an anonymous poet felt when he wrote,
I'd sit and sit a thousand years. . . And rest myself, by gosh!
Dear Jesus, strengthen me and give me the rest I need to faithfully live for God. Amen.
