finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever
is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is
anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
This is not to say that there cannot be underlying physical causes of chronic fatigue. But there are
other factors that can play a role in fatigue like anger, boredom, anxiety and stress. Energy is
related to our mental state. God can cleanse us by seeking forgiveness and wholeness, as we focus
on the wonderful gifts from God.
(Philippians 4:8
NRSV)
The better our attitude, the higher our level of energy. You've experienced it yourself. You've had
a
rough day at work. By four o'clock you are dragging. You're yearning for the five o'clock whistle.
You struggle through traffic, drag your weary body home, and plop down in your easy chair, too
worn out to do anything but reach for the remote control. But a friend calls and invites you to do
something you really enjoy. Suddenly you have a burst of energy you never dreamed you had.
When you are doing something you enjoy, amazing energy is available. Energy is primarily
mental.
It is related to attitude.
Loving God, cleanse my soul as I seek to focus on the great things you have given to me. Amen.
