"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
His simple advice will remind many of you of Mother Teresa's words to a reporter summing up
life's her work. She said, "I give them Jesus."
In Romans 10 the Apostle Paul is telling Christians in the most powerful and influential city on
earth that there is no more important work for them to do than to share the faith with others. May
that be our witness too.
(Romans 10:15
NRSV)
John Wesley, the 18th century Anglican priest who set off the great Wesleyan revival that swept
England and America, was putting Thomas Coke on a ship to his new assignment. Mr. Wesley
was sending Coke to give leadership to a rapidly growing church in the new world, now known as
the United States of America. Tradition tells us that Mr. Wesley gave Mr. Coke only three words
of advice, "Offer them Christ."
Loving God, help me to live my life in such a way that offers Christ to all I meet. Amen.
