Daily Devotions - A Few Moments With
God

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.
(2 Timothy 2:15 NRSV)

You would think that people would want to put their very best foot forward when submitting a resume. You would think they would at least check for typo's. Yet, according to the firm Accountemps, here are some real-life excerpts from real people's resumes:

1. "Dear sir: I am a rabid typist."
2. "I'm a quick leaner."
3. "I seek challenges that test my mind and body because the two are usually inseparable."
4. "Here are my qualifications for you to overlook."
5. "Hope to hear from you shorty."

Do you know what it takes to make it in life? It takes hard work. It takes doing it right the first time. People talk about working smarter and not harder, but that can be deceptive. People who make a difference in this world do both. They have a passion, a vision, a burning desire to be the best they can be. That is God's desire for all of us.

God of all, may I put the gifts you have invested in me to their greatest use. Amen.
