Daily Devotions - A Few Moments With God

Now before faith came, we were imprisoned and guarded under the law until faith would be revealed.
(Galatians 3:23 NRSV)

Jesus says to us, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."

God is greater than all. That is the center of our message today. God is not like the captain who abandoned his ship. God is a shepherd who is able to protect us from whatever may threaten. Maybe not in the way we expect, but God nonetheless is always there to meet our needs.

Loving God, I have often not given you credit for meeting my needs, but, today, I pause to offer you my deepest thanks. Amen.
