And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the
glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.
Many religious teachers and leaders have said that Jesus could not have come to be our savior
without experiencing our humanness, so Jesus came to our world to experience what it meant to
be human. He came so he could be our savior.
(John 1:14
NRSV)
Jesus was the "Word that became flesh." Jesus came to experience the same hurts, joys, and
temptations we face.
Dear God, it is reassuring to know that Jesus has experienced my hurts and joys. Amen.
