No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
We must love our spouse and all of God's people unconditionally. Jesus said that one of the
greatest demonstrations of our unconditional love is to lay our life down for one another (John
15:13).

John 3:16 demonstrates God's unconditional love for us, "For God so loved the world that he
gave his only son, so that those who believe in him shall not parish but have everlasting life."
Throughout history God has continued to love us and love us unconditionally. God did not say, "I
will love you if you promise to never hurt another person." "God so love the world," means God
loves us unconditionally. If our spouse only loves us when we bring home a gift, or have great
sex, or do all the house keeping, then we are loved conditionally.
Loving God, help me to truly love unconditionally. Amen.
