but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, so that the poor of your
people may eat; and what they leave the wild animals may eat. You shall do the same with your
vineyard, and with your olive orchard.
Annual celebrations, like birthdays, remind us of the blessings God gives us with each passing
year.

A teacher was administering an achievement test to David, a precocious six-year-old. The teacher
began by asking him when his birthday was. "February 20," was his quick response. Next the
teacher asked him, "What year, David?" David looked at the teacher quizzically at first and then
hit upon the obvious answer. "EVERY year," he said.
God of all my years, thank you for the ways you have blessed my life. May I take those blessings
and share them with others. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
