For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
(Galatians 5:1 NRSV)

An American History teacher posed the following question to her class: "A distinguished foreigner was a big help to the American colonists during the Revolutionary War," she said. "Can anyone give me his name?" One young fellow felt he knew the answer. "It was God," he said.

That's a pretty good answer. "A distinguished foreigner who helped the colonists." Is there anyone who is not thankful for our God-given freedom.

We may live in a free country or we may not. Even in a so called free country, are we truly free? Of course not. All forms of freedom have limitations. However, everyone of us has an ultimate freedom that comes from God.

Through Jesus Christ we have been set free!

Dear God, bring me true freedom as I fill my heart with your savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
