If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
That's good advice, but many of us have quit looking at the light. We are content to watch other
people and to do as they do. And thus we remain lost with no fixed point of reference for our
lives.
Remember our true light comes from the cross of Jesus Christ.

E. Stanley Jones was about to go across a street. A woman pulled on his arm and said, "Look at
the red light." Jones replied rather weakly, "But look at the people going across." She replied,
"Don't look at them. Look at the light and follow it."
Loving God, refocus me to stop looking at what other people are doing and to faithfully look to
the light of Jesus Christ. Amen.
