For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...
a time to weep, and a time to laugh.
We all do it, don't we? Make fools of ourselves? Better to step back now and laugh
at our boo-boos than to wait a few years down the road. Now is when we need
relief from the stress, and just think about all to good laughter we give God!
(Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4
NRSV)
At a wrestling show in Knoxville, Tennessee the sportscaster announced
authoritatively that a 1955 Buick was parked in such a way as to be blocking all
traffic. The announcer read the message through many times before he realized that
it was his own car that he was talking about.
Loving God, thanks for the kind of laughter that relieves the pressures of life. Amen.
