Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us give
thanks, by which we offer to God an acceptable worship with reverence and awe.
The woman said, "Oh that's ok. I'll train him not to do that." The store owner finally gave in and
sold the Parrot.
After the Parrot got used to its surrounds in his new home, he let out the worst profanity the
woman had ever heard. She grabbed the Parrot and said, "I'm going to teach you a lesson. I'm
going to put you in the freezer." After a few minutes in the freezer, the Parrot was taken out. The
Parrot said, "I have just one question for you. What did the turkey in there do?"
Obviously, the turkey was frozen and waiting for the Thanksgiving dinner. But it is also true that
this Parrot needed to turn over his profanity to God. As we get celebrate Thanksgiving, may we
turn over to God the stumbling blocks in our lives, so that we can faithfully give our thanks to
God. God has been faithful to us. We will be faithful in return?
(Hebrews
12:28
NRSV)
There was a woman to was in a pet store one day and saw this beautiful Parrot. She admired the
Parrot for a few minutes and decided that she just had to take it home with her. The store owner
however told her the Parrot was not for sale. The woman asked why. The owner said, "He, on
occasion, lets out the worst profanity you have ever heard."
Dear God, thank you! Amen.
