"Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
No matter who the person was, this was the rule. Soon people were using the expression,
"Hobson's choice," which really means, no choice at all.
Sometimes life does throw us "Hobson's choices." Circumstances can sometimes limit our
choices. Sometimes the choices before us are hard ones to follow. Life is not always a bowl of ice
cream!
When faced with difficult choices. Will you take time to seek God's will?
(Mark 3:35
NRSV)
In the seventeenth century, Thomas Hobson rented out horses at Cambridge, England. He had a
rule that any person renting a horse must take the one standing closest to the stable door.
God of peace, when I am faced with difficult choices, please remind me to seek your way and
your will. Amen.
