When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us
each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to
us. And do not bring us to the time of trial.
Our Bible passage today is about talking to Someone very important. It's about talking to
God. That's what we do when we pray. Some of the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him to
teach them how to pray. And that's when Jesus taught them the Lord's Prayer. You see, Jesus
prayed just like He was talking to God. He even called God "Daddy." He taught the disciples to
praise God, to ask for forgiveness of sins, to ask for God to take care of us each day. And He
taught them to talk to God just as we might talk to our own parents. Besides talking, we also
need to listen to God!

Many of us today have cellular telephones. Did you ever wonder where a funny word like
"telephone" came from? "Tele" means "far away,"and "phone" means "voice" or "sound." So a
telephone is something for sending voices or sounds far away. By using a telephone, you can talk
to people halfway around the world. It's common place today, but it is still pretty amazing.
Dear God, move me each day to talk to you and listen to your great wisdom. Amen.
