Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, "I will
confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
It is said that Noel Coward once sent identical notes to the twenty most prominent men in
London, saying, "All is discovered. Escape while you can."
All twenty abruptly left town.
Most of us have the so called skeletons in the closest. Jesus Christ can take the guilt away through
our confession and restore us in our relationship with God.
What do you need to confess today?
Ron Newhouse
(Psalms 32:5
NRSV)
Guilt is one of the great barriers to relationships. It is the great barrier in our relationship to God
and with others. As long as I carry a load of guilt, I will be afraid you will learn too much about
my life and possibly expose my shame. Only a rich experience in God's grace can remove guilt
and make fellowship with God and others possible.
God of love, thanks for your grace that has healed my relationship with you.
Amen.
