Daily-Devotions--A Few Moments With God

Then Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here."
(Mark 9:5 NRSV)

There are times when God suddenly breaks into our lives. The confused disciples were given a preview of what was to come on the mountain of the transfiguration. They were given a glimpse of what the future held. At that very special moment they saw an amazing sight, a combination of heaven and earth, time and all eternity. All Peter could say was, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here!" Such mountaintop experiences are rare, but they do happen.

It was a rough year for the small coal mine community, so it was no surprise when, at a revival, one miner stood up and witnessed to the church: "My life is filled with mountaintop experiences. One day, I'm on top of the mountain. The next day the mountain is on top of me."

Remember the mountaintop when you are in the valley!

Dear God, thank you for the wonderful mountaintop experiences you have given to me. Amen.
