Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give
glory to your Father in heaven.
A caller to a radio talk show asked the host if he knew how to put a gleam in a politician's eye.
The host asked how. The caller replied, "Shine a flashlight in his ear."
Just think what can happen when we allow the light of Jesus Christ to shine through us!
Ron Newhouse
(Matthew 5:16
NRSV)
We have a responsibility of the world. That makes sense, doesn't it? We are the light of the world.
A light house steers ships away from the rocks. A light bulb lights up a room. Light does not exist
for its own glory but to brighten up the world. That is the first thing Jesus is saying to us: We
have a responsibility for the world. Let your light shine!
Dear God, I am honored that you have touch me with your light. Guide me as I pass it on. Amen.
