Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one;
30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your
mind, and with all your strength."
There it is. The simplest formula for the good life ever given and from the lips of the Master
himself.

A lawyer put Jesus to the test with this question: "What shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus
turned the question back to the lawyer. "What is written in the law? How do you read it?" The
lawyer answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Jesus said to
him, "You have answered right; DO THIS AND LIVE."
Prayer: Dear God, help me to do a much better job of loving. Amen.
