Daily-Devotions--A Few Moments With God

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it.
(Matthew 7:13 NRSV)

Have you ever been lost? It can be a scary feeling! In a crowded city a little boy lost his mother. He went in and out of stores and saw ladies carrying packages, but none was his mother. He went to the end of the block where there was a policeman and, pointing to the passing crowd, asked, "Mister, did you happened to see a lady going by without me?"

The Bible describes people who have wandered away from God as being lost. That's a good term. You see, God is our Heavenly parent. When we wander away from God, we do feel frightened and alone in the world. There are many people who feel frightened and alone. They are lost. They need to find their way back to God.

You and I can help people find their way back with a map. Not just any map will do of course. We need to share the map to God and Jesus Christ found in the Bible!

Prayer: God of hope, help me to find the avenue that leads me to you. Amen.
