We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
When Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of heaven (the two terms are
interchangeable), he was talking about the reign of God in human hearts. And the natural
inclination of the person in whose life God reigns is joy.
Mark Twain tells about the old man who "laughed loud and joyously," shaking up the details of
his anatomy from head to foot. Twain ends by saying that such a laugh is "money in a man's
pocket, because it cut down the doctor's bills like everything." Maybe Twain knew what he was
talking about.
May we share the joy of God's heavenly kingdom.

How would you feel if Ed McMahon knocked on your door? Then you know how it would feel to
receive the Kingdom into your life.
Prayer: God of heaven, with joy I worship you. Help me to find your complete joy.
Amen.
