Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains
shake in the heart of the sea.
But many people fight change no matter what their view.
"Things are ok as they are,"
"We have done it this way for the last _____ years!"
"Why change now?"
In the future it is quite likely that some things will change. Proposals for other changes will be
made. Some of these changes will be understood and accepted while others will not. It is often
difficult to know just who is right when considering any change. It is a challenge to us to look at
whether or not we fight something because we carefully considered the alternatives, the
advantages and disadvantages, and have chosen to make the change or not to make the change or
if our decision is based on the idea of the status quo, "It was good enough for Paul and Silas and
its good enough for me."

Posted in large letters on a poster in the hallway of a building at Sampson Air Force Base in New
York were these words, "Change is Progress," Some had a considerable disagreement with the
young Lieutenant who put up that poster. Some think of progress as improvement while the
Lieutenant was thinking of progress as forward movement, in essence, both were right.
Prayer: Dear God, may I seek your will in the face of change. Amen.
