They profess to know God, but they deny him by their actions.
(Titus 1:16
NRSV)
I remember a neat story about two little boys who were fighting, as little boys are often prone to
do. One of them yelled at the other, "I'll never speak to you again."
They went to their respective houses, but the next day they were back out playing as if nothing
had happened. One of the little boys' mother asked him why they were speaking to each other
now.
He responded, "Me and Johnny are good forgetters." That is the kind of God we have. God is a
good forgetter.
Jesus' can also help us overcome our ways of denying God. Jesus is the bridge that links our lives
to God's being. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through me."

We can overcome the ways we deny ourselves of a loving relationship with God. First, we must
realize that God loves us and forgives us. I John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, God who is
faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Prayer: Dear Jesus, bring me close to God through my words and actions. Amen.
