For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely
have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the
many.
(Romans 5:15
NRSV)
Salvation is not about what we think we have. It is about accepting the gift of God's grace in
Jesus Christ.

In closing, let me tell you a fishing story. Three men went out fishing. The first was a Baptist who
believed "Once in grace, always in grace." The second was a Methodist who believed one could
be in grace, but backsliding was possible. The third was a Positive Thinker, who followed the
doctrine of ministers like Robert Schuller. A storm arose and the three men drowned. They were
completely astonished to end up in the fires of hell. The Baptist cried out, "I thought I had it, but I
didn't." The Methodist wailed, "I had it, but I lost it." The Positive Thinker was curled in a corner
with his hands over his eyes, chanting, "I'm not here! I'm not here!"
Prayer: Lord Jesus, come and live in me today and forever, as you fill me with God's
abundant grace, hope, and love. Amen.
