Daily-Devotions--A Few Moments With God

He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. (Luke 9:2 NRSV)

If you have ever been healed physically or emotionally, then you know first hand the grace that comes through healing. I just saw my mother a few months ago. She has battle cancer twice. She had a hip socket that had locked up, but, God has healed her.

Healing was central the Jesus' ministry. In Luke 6:18, it says, "They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured." Jesus' ministry was about restoration.

Healing can come in many different forms. I expect that many of us here today wouldn't think of death as healing, but I have ministered to many people who found relief and ultimate healing in death. In death, we will find our complete union with God's grace.

Prayer: Dear God, heal me and those who suffer in your name. Amen.
