Daily-Devotions--A Few Moments With God

I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints. (Ephesians 1:15 NRSV)

It is important to honor the saints who have gone before us. But, I also believe God is more concerned about the history we will create today and tomorrow. Jesus called us to love our neighbors. Jesus called us to make disciples. These are the works of one God has called to be a saint.

I remember a story of a teacher who was talking to her class of young boys, and she asked, "How many of you would like to go to heaven?" And all the hands instantly shot into the air at once, except one. She was astounded. She asked, "Charlie, you mean you don't want to go to heaven?" He said, "Sure, I want to go to heaven, but not with that bunch."

Some of us may feel that way, but remember, we have a saintly history to create before we join our saints in heaven.

Prayer: Loving God, guide me in making a difference today for all of your saints. Amen.
