For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the
grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many.
(Romans 5:15
NRSV)
Much to my surprise two days later this person came to my office, got on her
knees, and apologized. It was a moment of grace.
General Colon Powell speaking to a group of soldiers said, "My job today is to
speak to you, and your job is to listen. If you get your job done before I do, please
let me know."
Are we listening to the grace of God? Or have we already finished our job?

God is about grace. In a former church I served, after a board meeting a
church member came up to me and chewed me out over a comment I had
made during the meeting. As often happens in a case like this, the comment
was misunderstood and taken out of context. To say the least, I was deeply
hurt and humiliated.
Prayer: Dear God, I know my job is never really done. Help me to know your grace and
to pass it on. Amen.
