He came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher
who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of
God."
Jesus told Nicodemus, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being
born from above." Nicodemus misunderstood. "How can anyone be born after having grown
old?" Nicodemus asked Jesus. "Can one enter a second time into the mother's womb and be
born?"
"No one can enter the kingdom of God," said Jesus, "without being born of water and Spirit."
There comes a time in our lives when we must acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We
can only put him off for so long. Then a decision must be made.

(John 3:2
NRSV)
There comes a time when we must claim Jesus as our lord--we can no longer put him off.
Nicodemus came by the cover of darkness to speak with the Master. Being a respected leader of
Judaism he had to be careful whom he was seen with. Nicodemus felt safe as he made his way
through the darkness to meet with Jesus. Nicodemus hoped that Jesus could help him fill the void
he was feeling in his life.
Prayer: Dear God, you know of my decision to follow you. May my decision be a
full-time one! Amen.
