But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your
protection over them, so that those who love your name may exult in you. (Psalms 5:11
NRSV)
The attendant answered politely, "Ma'am, around here we don't get excited."
That same might be said of some Christians. There's nothing more contradictory than an
unenthusiastic Christian. The Bible tells us that God loves us so much, in fact, that God gave his
only son so that all who believe in him will have everlasting life. Nothing not even death can
separate us from God's love!
If we really believe that, we can't help but overflow with joy!

A couple was driving in an extremely desolate part of the country and stopped for gas. The
woman asked the attendant, "What do you do around here for excitement?"
Prayer: Loving God, help me to show and share your joy. Amen.
