The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the LORD, and the neediest people shall exult in
the Holy One of Israel.
"No," replied the other woman. "That's the day I always let him sleep in."
If we choose to, we can be resentful and grumpy about life. It is true that life is not always easy,
but we have a choice about how we respond to life's challenges.
Jesus had a difficult life. He was born in a stable. He was poor all his life. He was misunderstood
by his own family. One of his closest friends betrayed him. He died a terrible death on the cross.
But, how did Jesus respond to life's challenges? He laughed often and had a good sense of humor.
He once said that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich
person to get into heaven. Life was hard for Jesus, but he lived it in the joy of the Lord.

Two neighbors were visiting one evening. One of the women asked, "After a long, busy week, do
you ever wake up grumpy on Saturday morning?"
Prayer: God of peace, when life gets hard help me find your peace and joy. Amen.
