The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some
evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building
up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12
NRSV)
For those of us forced by our parents to do things like playing the piano that we didn't want to
do, the piano teacher's threat is one to take seriously. Yet, many of us waste our God given
talents everyday, because of our unwillingness to use them to honor God.
Perhaps we think we have been given no special talent, but, if we look closely at our lives, all of
us have been given sometime to offer God. Gifts and talents come in a wide variety. We all have
some kind of talent or gift. Our call is to share them in honoring our Father in heaven.

I'm warning you," said the piano teacher to an unruly student. "If you don't behave, I'll tell your
parents you have talent!"
Prayer: Dear God, may I honor you in the use of my gifts and talents. Amen.
