Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
We long for peace in our hearts don't we? Dave Garroway was, for many years, the
host of the TODAY show on NBC. Dave attained wealth, fame and respect.
Someone once asked him about his understanding of Christmas. Here's how he
replied: "I've noticed that when people are asked what they want for Christmas, 9
times out of 10, they answer with something material. That used to be amusing to
me, but it's not amusing to me any longer. I happen to be one of those people who
can afford anything he wants, but I find what I really want, I can't buy at all. I want
peace of mind, peace of soul; the kind of peace you have when you don't really want
anything."
In our scripture reading it says, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say,
Rejoice." One of the ways we can find peace in our hearts is by rejoicing in God
and not in the things of this world.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, give me your peace. Amen.
