Remember then what you received and heard; obey it, and repent. If you do not
wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.
Are you ready for Christmas? Are you ready for all the hustle and bustle? Are you
ready for the excitement of little boys and girls? Are you ready for Jesus Christ?
Today, we are being called to be ready for whenever Jesus comes, because we will
not have any warning of when we will be called to go home to God.

(Revelation 3:3
NRSV)
I remember a story of a grandfather who took his grandsons with him when he went
to the church to so some Christmas decorating. The two boys began to race around
the sanctuary and their grandfather scolded them, "You shouldn't do that, boys. This
is God's house." The 4-year-old looked up innocently and said, "Doesn't God like
little boys Granddaddy?" With a shrug and a wave of the hand, the grandfather
signaled the boys to carry on with what they were doing."
Prayer: Lord Jesus, live in me, so that I will be ready for your coming. Amen.
