Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch.
We need to clear the overgrown clutter that overtakes our lives, preventing us from
being the people God wants us to be. Clearing our lives is not a once and done task
but is something we must do continually to prepare for Christ's coming. The call to
us is to cut back that which is ensnaring, to straighten that which is crooked, to
smooth out that which is rough--to prepare the way for Christ's coming.

NRSV)
I remember when we first moved into one of the parsonages we have lived in. A
shrub by the house was pointed out. "That will take over if you don't watch it." I did
more trimming and cutting on the shrub than I have on any shrub I have ever taken
care of. You may have shrubs by your house that need to be pruned and trimmed or
they will they will take over.
Prayer: Dear God, I need to do some serious pruning. Guide me to your all consuming
love. Amen.
