To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the
Lord. (Luke 2:11
NRSV)
Our scripture reading tells us God's answer to our deepest longing, "But the angel
said to them, "Do not be afraid; for see--I am bringing you good news of great joy
for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the
Messiah, the Lord."
This Christmas we need to follow Jesus Christ. Christ doesn't need a gift or a
present from us. Jesus does want our presence. Jesus does want us to share. Jesus
does want us to bring God's love to our family, friends, and neighbors. Jesus wants
us to make a difference for God.
"To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the
Lord."
Prayer: God of all, help me to do my best in fulfilling what Jesus would have me do.
