For Christ must reign until he has put all of his enemies under
his feet. (I Corinthians 15:25
NRSV)
Christ's kingdom will be a lot like the Europe of today. The walls of
separation will come down like the Berlin wall did several years ago. God's
kingdom will unify us, and Christ will lead us to a genuine love for one
another.
I remember reading about a delegate who went to the International
Missionary Council in 1938. The meeting made a great impression on her.
When she returned home, she tried to persuade her friends to buy small
globes. Then she wanted them to hold the globe in their hands once a day, as
they prayed, "Thy will be done on earth." They were shocked when World
War II began shortly after they started their quest for peace.
It is not easy to build peace, but, with Christ as king of our lives, Jesus can
radically transform us and our world into what God wants us to be. And God
want us to be a follower of Jesus Christ. A follow who loves God and
neighbor will all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Prayer: Dear God, may I love today like you love me. Amen.
