Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19 NRSV Bible)
Today's scripture reading talks about the discipline and the power of the church. These two elements of the church are very important to our success as God's people. We all know the importance of discipline. A few years ago, I read a book titled "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten." In this book, one of the things the author talked about was learning to share and play fair with others. An important thing to learn in kindergarten, because learning to share and play is an important discipline we need to use throughout our lives. Discipline helps us to live in harmony with one another.

Remembering the source of our power and strength is also important to successful living. Unions have long recognized the importance of working together, so that they can get better working conditions and better wages. We, the church, are also more successful when we work together.

What can I do to strengthen the success of Christ's church?

Dear Jesus, thank you for your church that has helped me grow in my relationship with you. Help me to do all I can to strengthen the church's witness. Amen
