Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God." (Mark 11:22 NRSV)

After Jesus raised Lazarus from death, Jesus said, "Father, I thank you for having heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here." God hears us too, so it is important that we offer our thanks to God.

In Psalms 30: 12, the writer says, "O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever." We have much thanks to give for those who have helped us to be people of faith. I'm sure you can think of the special people in your own life who have helped you be the Christian you are today. I can think of people live Tessie Stewally. She was one of my Sunday School teachers. Her love and faithfulness deeply touched my spirit, and I am thankful for her witness.

A Christian or a country that forgets their history doesn't much of a future. A lot of people have made sacrifices so that we could be people of faith and live in this free and prosperous land. I'm talking about men and women of who have faithfully served our country. I'm talking about parents, grandparents, teachers, Sunday School teachers, pastors, Christian friends, and Christian role models. They have given us something to be thankful for.

Dear God, thank you for those who have helped me to be a person of faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
