For Christ must reign until he has put all of his enemies under
his feet.
(I Corinthians 15:25 NRSV Bible)
I remember reading about a delegate who went to the International Missionary Council in 1938. The meeting made a great impression on her. When she returned home, she tried to persuade her friends to buy small globes. Then she wanted them to hold the globe in their hands once a day, as they prayed, "Thy will be done on earth." They were shocked when World War II began shortly after they started their quest for peace.
It is not easy to build peace, but, with Christ as king of our lives, Jesus can radically transform our world and us into peacemakers.
God wants us to be followers of Jesus Christ. Followers who love God and our neighbor will all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Dear God, may I love others today as you love me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
